Awkward Raya

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone. Since everyone or most of us still in raya mood I want to share a bit of my raya experience this year. Specifically I want to talk about when I went to open house or just visiting friends during this festive season.

I have people I barely know came to my house and they're the one trying to communicate with me. What's with that, Syaza? They also asked me questions and I couldn't ask them back. I think this is because I'm not used to talking to strangers or people that I don't know well. Also I think because when I ask people about themselves, what ever information I received it couldn't stay in my head for more than a second. Haha. Maybe that's why I don't feel like asking strangers about themselves.

Things get worse when I came to a friend's open house. I came with my brother and I barely know everyone else there. I was super awkward. I sat at a corner or somewhere with my brother and tried to avoid sitting near the crowd. I recognized a few faces but I don't know them that much. So some girls there tried to start a conversation with me and they were the only one asking questions. You could call it a one-sided conversation. I couldn't contribute more to the conversation and it felt so awkward to just sit with them but not engaged with them.

Maybe next time I should start being more open and talkative to strangers in real life. But how?

A rainbow formed on the first of Syawal :)
